Swimming Center Opens Monday With Reservation Program

GLENVIEW, IL — With the state officially in Phase 4 of its Restore Illinois plan, public pools are opening with COVID-19 safety guidelines in effect. The Flick Outdoor Aquatic Center opens at 10:45 a.m. Monday with three-hour times blocks available to the public.

Each time block will be limited to 100 visitors at a time, according to the Glenview Park District. These reservations will take the place of previously scheduled Water Walking reservations. Water Walking will continue to be available in early morning time blocks. Lap swim time blocks will continue to be offered all day.

“As we work to open public swim as quickly as we can safely do so, please understand this is our first week back, and our time blocks and policies will change and evolve through this process,” a press release from the Glenview Park district reads. “For this week, we recommend you bring your own lounge chair. We will be renting out lounge chairs and cleaning them between each use starting the week of July 6.”

Slides and play areas will be open during public swim, but visitors should maintain proper physical distancing when using these areas. Staff will be cleaning and sanitizing all high-touch surfaces every hour, according to the park district.

How to Reserve a Time Block
Residents will need to make reservations via the Glenview Park District’s website prior to attending the pool. Officials say there will be no walk-up transactions.

  • You may only reserve one (1) time block per day.

  • Payment will be due at the time of reservation for non-members ($11 per person for daily fee admission).

  • Time blocks will be available for reservation 7 days in advance.

  • Time blocks can only be reserved online.

  • Everyone is required to wear a face covering while checking in, on the pool deck and in the common areas. Face coverings cannot be worn in the pool.

  • Everyone is required to exit the facility at the end of each time block.

Residents/Members Only

Due to limited capacity, swimming is only available to Glenview Park District residents, Park Center Health and Fitness Members and Aquatic Members at this time. Visit the district’s website for more information.
